Gouverneur man charged after police allege drug possession, evidence tampering
Gouverneur police said a 37-year-old man was arrested Aug. 28 and charged after officers allegedly found fentanyl and cocaine during a foot pursuit.
Gouverneur police said Aaron Johnson, 37, was arrested Aug. 28 after a foot pursuit on Grove Street. Police allege officers found him carrying 1,110 bags of fentanyl and 17 grams of cocaine and that he swallowed what appeared to be crack cocaine while in custody.
Johnson was charged with felony counts including criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and ordered held in the St. Lawrence County Jail on $10,000 bail.
