Massena airport receives $935,275 grant for new snowblower

Massena International Airport has received a $935,275 federal grant to purchase a new rotary snowblower. The airport’s current machine is 23 years old and is used to clear snow from the airfield during storms.

Airport manager Dylan Casselman said the existing equipment has experienced fatigue and is losing its four-wheel steering. The replacement is expected to be essentially the same type of equipment, and Casselman said he hopes it will arrive by next winter. The airport has three scheduled round-trip flights to Boston each day with Boutique Air.
