St. Lawrence County seeks more volunteers for senior meal deliveries
The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging is seeking volunteers to help deliver 600 to 700 meals each week to older adults.
The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging is seeking volunteer drivers for its weekday home-delivered meal program. About 75 volunteers currently serve five Nutrition Centers, but the program needs at least 100 to deliver 600 to 700 meals each week.
Volunteers are especially needed in the Gouverneur and Potsdam areas. Routes generally take about an hour, and volunteers can choose schedules ranging from a few hours a week to a few hours a month. Drivers receive 76 cents per mile for their routes.
The program serves more than 550 older adults through centers in Brasher Falls, Canton, Gouverneur, Morristown and Potsdam. To learn more, contact the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging at 315-386-4730.
