Watertown woman charged after alleged fake $100 purchase attempt
Watertown police charged a 38-year-old woman with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument after an alleged attempt to use a $100 bill marked for motion-picture purposes at a Family Dollar store.
The Watertown Police Department charged a 38-year-old woman with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, after an alleged attempt to use a $100 bill at the Family Dollar at 146 Arsenal Street. The charge was filed after police arrested her at about 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 4, police said.
Police allege the bill, which was marked “for motion picture purposes,” was used in an attempt to buy merchandise at about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13. She was scheduled to appear in Watertown City Court.
