Adams Center Fire District awarded $1 million state grant

The Adams Center Fire District has been awarded $1 million through a state capital funding program for volunteer fire departments, according to information released by Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.

The district plans to use the grant for station improvements, including roof work and an addition for storage and training. The project may begin next spring. The district said the funding might not cover the entire project, and additional costs could be paid through a loan supported by taxes.
